"Para mi Cuyana" Mora Ballesta
During a visit of Francisco Mora and Zaida Ballesteros made some recordings with a guitar I built. In this video you can listen to "para mi cuyana" performed with a classical guitar with cedar soundboard and rosewood back and sides.
"The musical duo Mora-Ballesta was born from a shared interest in musical exchange"
Francisco Mora was born in Tierra de Fuego, Argentina in 1988. At a very young age he became dedicated to the study of the guitar and South-American folklorical rhythms. With a six or eight-string guitar he explores the different musical genres manifested in the region, Argentina, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay. “I believe that music, although not very respectful to political boundaries, knows to cross rivers, valleys and mountains or move with travellers’ baggage.” His repertoire includes the music of the Andes, Chaco, Río Paraná, Río de la Plata, Argentina, Brasil, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay.
Zaida Ballesteros Parejo was born in Granada. After studying dance at the “Conservatorio Profesional de Danza” in Granada she continued her studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts of Frankfurt am Main from 2001 to 2004. While studying at the university of Frankfurt she took lyrical singing classes with Katharina Kutsch and years later also with Eva Schneidereit and Alison Trainer. http://www.zaidaballesteros.com/
