Iserlohn guitar sympsoium
In July, I had the opportunity to travel with two of my guitars to exhibit at the Iserlohn Guitar Symposium—an extraordinary event that gathers a wonderful mix of emerging talents and internationally acclaimed artists, united by a shared passion for the guitar.
Throughout the week, the symposium offered an inspiring atmosphere with the guitar at the center of it all. During the day, we spent our time at the local music school, where I many guitarists, fellow luthiers, music enthusiasts from around the world. It was a pleasure to engage in meaningful conversations, exchange ideas, and hear feedback from so many who took the time to try out my instruments. I'm happy to say that many guitarists responded very positively to my guitars—always a rewarding and encouraging experience.
The event offered much more than just an exhibition. There were numerous concerts, informative presentations, and an impressive display of guitar-related craftsmanship—from makers like myself to suppliers of a wide array of accessories. One particularly special highlight was the classical guitar duo competition. Hearing such talented duos perform side by side, often trying out new instruments together, made for some truly memorable musical moments.
In the evenings, we gathered in the town’s beautiful church to enjoy a series of remarkable concerts. Especially the concerts by the Salzburg guitar trio and the Los Angeles guitar quartet were sublime.
Overall, the Iserlohn Guitar Symposium was a deeply enriching experience—both professionally and personally. I'm truly grateful to have been part of it, and I’m quite certain it won’t be the last time I attend.
