Flamenco Guitar
Description
The flamenco guitar we make has a direct and powerfull but still profound and quite sustainful sound. It's made to be as comfortable as can be.
Important inspirations are: Santos Hernández, Domingo Esteso, Arcangel Fernandez, and other Masters of the era.
The Flamenca Blanca is the most traditional guitar, designed to acompany singers and dancers. Traditionally it is made with Spruce and Spanish Cipress, timbers that in the old days were available in Spain and were therefor less expensive. Apart from for the typical flamenco sound cipress also provides a very pleasant smell.
Western Red Cedar can also be used for the soundboard, although it isn't traditional.
Flamencas Negras became prominent in the 50's of the 20th century when some Flamenco guitarists like for example Ramon Montoya gained fame as virtuoso musicans and started performing solo concerts. As they performed alone, as protagonists, they required more depth and sustain from their instruments.
Flamencas negras, or Concert Flamenco guitars can be made with a Spruce or Cedar top. The backs and sides can be various types of Rosewoods, such as Madagascar Rosewood, Indian Rosewood, Cocobolo and Bubinga. Other types of woods available are Ziricote, Pau Ferro, ...
