This week, I had the honor of welcoming my good friend Jerónimo Maya, an exceptional guitarist and someone with whom it is always a pleasure to talk. The occasion was even more special because I finally handed him his new guitar, a piece I had recently finished and worked on with great dedication.

We have decided to record a part of our conversation so that you can watch and enjoy it. We believe that sharing these moments will allow you to gain a deeper insight into our exchange of ideas, anecdotes, and reflections on music and luthiery. We hope that this glimpse into our discussion gives you a closer look at our passion for the art of guitar making.

As he held the guitar in his hands and played it with his unmistakable touch, we started reminiscing about how and when we first met. It’s incredible how time passes, yet the best moments remain engraved in our memories. We recalled our first conversations about guitar making, the sound he was searching for, and how, over time, we have built a connection based on mutual respect for our craft and our shared passion for music.

We talked extensively about the qualities of my guitars. It is always rewarding to hear the opinion of a great musician about my instruments, especially someone with Jerónimo’s talent and experience.

Between conversations, there was no shortage of laughter. Music and luthiery bring us together, but so do friendship, admiration, and the joy of sharing these moments. Every meeting with him is an opportunity to learn, share, and strengthen bonds that go beyond our profession.

Seeing his reaction as he played the guitar was, without a doubt, the greatest reward. Knowing that a musician of his caliber feels inspired by an instrument I have crafted with my own hands is what gives meaning to my work.

It is always a pleasure to have my friend visit and to share these experiences that extend far beyond wood and strings. I am certain that this guitar will accompany Jerónimo in many memorable performances, and it fills me with satisfaction to have contributed, in some way, to his music.
